FAQs
ADA & Accessibility Signs
What makes a sign ADA-compliant?
ADA-compliant signage is designed to be easy to identify, read, and use for people with disabilities. Depending on the sign and where it is installed, requirements can include tactile lettering, Braille, non-glare finishes, proper contrast, and specific mounting locations.
Where are ADA signs typically required?
ADA signage is commonly used for permanent rooms and spaces such as restrooms, stairwells, elevators, room identification, exits, and accessible routes. Requirements can vary by property and project.
Can ADA signs still match our brand?
Yes. Accessibility requirements do not mean the signs have to look generic. Materials, finishes, and colors can often be coordinated with your overall interior branding while still meeting accessibility requirements.
Vehicle Wraps & Graphics
How much does a vehicle wrap cost?
Vehicle-wrap pricing depends on the size and type of vehicle, the amount of coverage, design complexity, material selection, and installation requirements. A simple lettering package or partial wrap will generally cost less than a full commercial wrap. Wild Designs can provide a custom quote once we know the vehicle and project scope.
What is the difference between a full wrap and a partial wrap?
A full wrap covers most or all of the vehicle’s painted surface. A partial wrap strategically covers selected panels or areas and works with the vehicle’s existing paint color. Partial wraps can be a great way to create strong branding at a lower overall investment.
How is a fleet wrap different from wrapping one vehicle?
Fleet graphics require consistent branding across multiple vehicles. The goal is to make every vehicle look like part of the same professional brand, even when different vehicle makes, sizes, or body styles are involved.
Do vehicle wraps damage the paint?
A professionally installed wrap generally should not damage healthy factory paint. In many cases, the vinyl can help protect covered areas from UV exposure and minor surface wear.
How long does a vehicle wrap last?
A quality professionally installed wrap can last several years. Lifespan depends on the vinyl used, sun exposure, how the vehicle is stored, how often it is driven, and how it is cleaned.
Is wrapping a vehicle better than painting it for business advertising?
For commercial branding, a wrap offers advantages that paint does not. Graphics can include logos, phone numbers, services, imagery, and other marketing information, and they can later be updated or removed.
Are vehicle wraps a good investment for a business?
They can be. A branded vehicle works as mobile advertising whenever it is driven or parked in public and can help build name recognition while giving a business a more professional appearance.
What types of vehicle graphics are available?
Wild Designs can create full wraps, partial wraps, fleet graphics, logos, lettering, decals, and other commercial vehicle graphics depending on the vehicle and branding needs.
How should I care for a wrapped vehicle?
Gentle hand washing is generally best. Avoid aggressive brushes, harsh chemicals, and high-pressure spraying directly against seams or edges.
Building & Storefront Signs
What is the difference between channel letters and a lightbox sign?
Channel letters are individually fabricated letters or logo elements, often with internal illumination. A lightbox or sign cabinet is generally one enclosed sign structure with a graphic face.
What are channel letter signs?
Channel letters are three-dimensional letters or logos commonly mounted on storefronts and commercial buildings. They can be illuminated or non-illuminated and customized to match a company’s branding.
What is dimensional lettering?
Dimensional lettering uses raised letters or logos that project away from the mounting surface, creating depth and a polished three-dimensional appearance.
Can dimensional letters be used indoors and outdoors?
Yes. Different materials and mounting methods can be used depending on whether the signage is intended for an interior lobby, storefront, exterior wall, or other environment.
Can dimensional lettering be illuminated?
Yes. Depending on the design, dimensional signage may be internally illuminated, halo-lit, face-lit, or completely non-illuminated.
What types of storefront signage are available?
Options can include channel letters, dimensional letters and logos, wall signs, window graphics, vinyl lettering, and other custom identification signage.
How do I know what type of sign is best for my business?
Consider where customers will see it, how far away they will be, whether nighttime visibility is important, what your building allows, and the style of your brand. Wild Designs can help determine the best combination of materials, scale, and design.
Banners & Displays
What is the difference between mesh and vinyl banners?
Vinyl banners have a solid surface that provides strong color and image quality. Mesh banners contain small openings that allow air to pass through, making them useful for larger or wind-exposed outdoor installations.
What are grommets on a banner?
Grommets are reinforced metal rings installed around the banner edges. They create stronger attachment points for rope, hooks, zip ties, or other mounting hardware.
What are retractable banners?
Retractable banners are portable displays in which the printed graphic rolls into a base for storage and transportation. They are commonly used for trade shows, presentations, events, reception areas, and temporary marketing displays.
What signage should I use for a trade show booth?
A typical trade-show setup may include a backdrop, retractable banner, tabletop graphics, branded displays, and other portable signage.
Window & Wall Graphics
What is the difference between a window cling and a window decal?
A cling typically adheres without a permanent adhesive and is commonly used for temporary applications. A window decal uses adhesive vinyl and is generally better suited for longer-term branding, lettering, or full-window graphics.
Can you cover an entire storefront window with graphics?
Yes. Full or partial window graphics can be used to add branding, privacy, promotional imagery, or decorative elements.
What are wall graphics?
Wall graphics are custom vinyl graphics, lettering, logos, or large-format images applied directly to interior or exterior wall surfaces.
Can wall graphics be removed later?
Many wall-graphic materials are designed to be removable, but the ease of removal depends on the material, wall finish, installation length, and condition of the painted surface.
Floor Graphics
How long do floor graphics last?
Durability depends on foot traffic, surface condition, cleaning methods, material selection, and whether the graphic is installed indoors or outdoors.
Can floor graphics be installed on any surface?
Not every surface is suitable. The surface texture, coating, condition, and environment should be evaluated before the material is selected and installed.
Wayfinding & Interior Signs
What are wayfinding signs?
Wayfinding signs help visitors navigate a building or property by identifying destinations and showing where to go.
What is a directory sign?
A directory sign organizes the names and locations of businesses, departments, rooms, or tenants within a property.
What office signs might my business need?
Depending on the space, businesses may use reception signs, dimensional logos, room identification, directional signs, window graphics, privacy film, wall lettering, and other branded interior signage.
Illuminated Signs
How long do LED illuminated signs last?
Quality sign LEDs can last for many years. Actual service life depends on how many hours the sign runs each day, heat exposure, weather, component quality, and maintenance.
Why choose an illuminated sign?
Illumination improves visibility after dark and can make a storefront easier to identify from the road or within a shopping center.
Design, Production & Installation
How will I know what my sign will look like before it is made?
Wild Designs can prepare a design proof or visual mockup before production so you can review the layout, colors, wording, proportions, and overall appearance.
What is a vector file, and why is it useful for signs and printing?
A vector file is artwork built from mathematical shapes rather than pixels. It can be enlarged without becoming blurry, which makes it ideal for signs, vehicle graphics, logos, and large-format printing.
What if I do not have a vector version of my logo?
Send Wild Designs the best logo file you have. Depending on the quality and complexity, the artwork may be usable as-is or may need to be recreated or converted before production.
How do you design a custom sign?
The process typically starts with your logo, brand colors, desired message, location, and dimensions. From there, the design is developed around readability, visibility, materials, fabrication requirements, and the overall look you want.
How long does sign production and installation take?
Timing varies by project. Simple printed graphics may move quickly, while fabricated building signs, illuminated signs, and projects involving permits can take longer.
Do business signs require permits?
Some exterior signs do. Permit requirements depend on the city, property, sign type, and any building or shopping-center requirements.
Can Wild Designs install the signs it produces?
Yes. Wild Designs’ portfolio includes completed installed signage such as dimensional lettering, building signs, wall graphics, window graphics, and commercial branding installations.
General
What is custom signage?
Custom signage is designed specifically around your business rather than using a standard off-the-shelf sign. Size, materials, colors, lettering, graphics, lighting, and mounting can all be tailored to the space and brand.
What is the most effective sign for my business?
There is no single sign that is best for every company. A storefront may benefit from illuminated channel letters, an office may need dimensional lobby lettering, and a service business may get strong exposure from vehicle graphics.
Can Wild Designs match my existing branding?
Yes. Providing your logo files, brand colors, fonts, and examples of existing marketing materials helps keep signage and graphics consistent with the rest of your business.
Does Wild Designs work on both interior and exterior projects?
Yes. Wild Designs handles both interior and exterior projects, including storefront signage, dimensional letters, wall graphics, window graphics, commercial vehicle graphics, and branded interior environments.
What areas does Wild Designs serve?
Wild Designs serves businesses throughout the Inland Empire, San Diego County, Orange County, and Los Angeles County.
